Hot Tours: U2, Miley Cyrus, Kenny Chesney

U2 is No. 1 in the weekly Hot Tours tally with ticket sales counts reported from sold out stadium concerts in three U.S. markets during the final weeks of the record-breaking 360° Tour. This week's combined gross of $19.8 million comes from performances at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field on July 14, Busch Stadium in St. Louis on July 17 and New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. on July 20. The Philadelphia show drew a crowd of 72,389, the highest single concert attendance total ever reported to Billboard for the home venue of the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles. The number of tickets sold at Busch Stadium was 52,273, also the top concert attendance total reported during that venue's five-year history, and attendance at the New Meadowlands was 88,491, a single concert attendance record that sets the bar high at the fifteen-month old venue.

Miley Cyrus is second in this week's rankings with grosses reported from three venues on the Australian leg of her Gypsy Heart Tour that wrapped on July 2. Touring in support of the album Can't Be Tamed, the pop star sold out concerts at arenas in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth drawing a combined total of 35,268 fans. The tour also played to sellout crowds in Melbourne and Sydney, but those totals were reported in a previous week. The entire five-market Aussie trek grossed over $7.3 million (AUS$) from seven performances.

Country star Kenny Chesney is No. 3 this week with more than $2 million in box office grosses reported from three Canadian dates on his Goin' Coastal Tour. Combined attendance was 33,926 at arenas in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Fellow country superstars Rascal Flatts andBrad Paisley also land on this week's list of the ten top-grossing tours with totals reported from shed dates on their summer touring schedules. Rascal Flatts (No. 6) performed for sellout crowds at Riverbend Music Center in Cincinnati on July 22 and Verizon Wireless Music Center in the Indianapolis area on the 23rd. Paisley (No. 8) played Toyota Pavilion in Scranton, Pa. on July 22 and Darien Lake Performing Arts Center in Darien Center, N.Y. the following day.
